Trip to Serbia and Shanghai. The Global Data Ecosystem Conference was held in Shanghai on November 25-26, 2025.

The fifth Global Data Ecosystem Conference (GDEC 2025) was held in Shanghai on November 25-26. Delegates from Kazakhstan included Kairat Kipatov, Director of the RSE IPC, Sarsen Zhanabekov, Deputy Director, and Akmaral Tokbergenova, Director of the Project Management Department.

The conference, themed "World of Data, Connected Future – Multiplication Without Borders ∞," focused on international cooperation in the data sector, the development of digital infrastructure, public digital services, and the intelligent application of data across various industries.

As part of GDEC 2025, representatives of the Information and Computing Center officially presented the concept paper "Unlocking the Economic Potential of Data in Kazakhstan."

The conference was supported by the National Data Administration of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Government. The organizers noted that GDEC 2025 has become an important platform for global dialogue on data and expanded international cooperation, including with Central Asian countries.

The event brought together representatives of government agencies, international companies, academic experts, and technology leaders. The program included plenary sessions, roundtables, showcases of achievements, and sessions on international projects. Participants discussed the opportunities and challenges of a data-driven economy and shared successful practices.
